Dr. Robert Morris, Epidemiologist
Robert D. Morris, MD, PhD, is an environmental epidemiologist at the University of Washington, where he teaches a course on Science Communication and Misinformation. He has taught at Tufts University School of Medicine, Harvard School of Public Health, and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and served as an advisor to the EPA, CDC, Bloomberg, the History Channel, the NIH and the President’s Cancer Panel. His work has been featured in the New York Times and the London Times, and on Dateline NBC and the BBC. His book, The Blue Death, received a Nautilus Gold Award and was named one of the Best Consumer Health Books of 2007 by the American Library Association. He lives in Seattle, WA.

Dr. Angela Rasmussen, Virologist
Angela Rasmussen, PhD, is a virologist at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research focuses on the role of the host in virus susceptibility and pathogenesis, with a particular interest in emerging viruses that are or have the potential to be major threats to global health like avian influenza virus, Ebola virus, mpox (monkeypox) virus, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2. She is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology at the university and in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University. She is the co-Editor-in-Chief of Vaccine and sits on the Editorial Boards at mSphere and Cell Reports. In addition to her academic work, she is also a prolific science communicator who has contributed to major media outlets. She is a former member of the U.S. NIH Advisory Committee to the Director Working Group on Changing the Culture to End Sexual Harassment.

Dr. Dan Wilson, Molecular Biologist
Dan Wilson, Ph.D., is a molecular biologist who earned his doctorate in biological sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. He currently works in the field of biotechnology and spends part of his free time exercising his passion for science communication on his YouTube channel, Debunk the Funk with Dr. Wilson. His channel focuses on debunking anti-vaccine myths and disinformation using sources from the primary scientific literature.

Dr. Natalia Solenkova, Critical Care Physician
Natalia Solenkova, MD, PhD, MLS FACP, is a board-certified intensivist with extensive expertise in multi-specialty critical care. She has practiced in diverse clinical settings across the United States, including academic medical centers, underserved urban, suburban and rural community hospitals, and tele-ICU platforms.
She is also a dedicated healthcare advocate engaged in legislative efforts at the state, national, and global levels. She has held leadership positions in the American Medical Association and the Florida Chapter of the American College of Physicians. She has also contributed to advancing medical ethics, promoting professionalism, and combating medical misinformation through the World Medical Association, the American Board of Medical Specialties, and various non-profit advocacy organizations.

Dr. David H. Gorski, Oncologist
David H. Gorski, MD, PhD, FACS, is a Professor of Surgery and Oncology and a member of the faculty of the Graduate Program in Cancer Biology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is a translational researcher and also and practices at the Barbara Ann Karmnanos Cancer Center as as a surgical oncologist specializing in breast cancer surgery. For the last two decades in his spare time he has been a prolific blogger at his personal blog Respectful Insolence and, since 2008, at the group blog Science-Based Medicine, where he has served as managing editor for many years. In both roles, he has concentrated on deconstructing unscientific health claims, myths, and conspiracy theories, particularly regarding cancer, vaccines, and alternative medicine.

Dr. Peter Daszak, Zoologist, Parasitologist, Ecologist
Peter Daszak, PhD, has conducted over 25 years of cutting-edge research on the origins and drivers of emerging diseases, developing strategies to predict and prevent pandemics. His work involves diverse disciplines from conservation biology, virology, ecology and environmental sustainability through to community programs that reduce the risk of disease emergence. Dr. Daszak’s research includes identifying the bat origin of SARSr-CoVs, the drivers of Nipah virus emergence, the discovery of SADS-CoV, identifying chytridiomycosis as the cause of global amphibian declines, and publishing the first global emerging disease “hotspots” map. Dr. Daszak is a member of the US National Academy of Medicine, the National Academies Standing Committee on Emerging Infectious Diseases & 21st Century Health Threats, and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Forum on Microbial Threats.

Wendy Orent, Science Writer
Wendy Orent is an anthropologist (she holds a PhD from the University of Michigan), author, and science writer who has written for over 25 years on biological weapons and the evolution of infectious disease. She is the author of Plague (Free Press, 2004, 2012) and co-author of Biowarrior: Inside the Soviet/Russian Biological War Machine, the memoir of Igor V. Domaradskij, the co-designer of the entire Soviet biological weapons program. She has reported on many infectious diseases and bioweapons threats, including SARS, Lyme disease, smallpox, monkeypox, polio, highly pathogenic avian flu, plague, the 2009 Swine Flu pandemic, and Covid. She co-hosts Dr. Jonathan Howard’s podcast based on his book We Want Them Infected.

Dr. Jonathan Howard, Neurologist and Psychiatrist
Dr. Jonathan Howard is a neurologist and psychiatrist who has been interested in vaccines since long before COVID-19. He is the author of the book We Want Them Infected: How the failed quest for herd immunity led doctors to embrace the anti-vaccine movement and blinded Americans to the threat of COVID.

Dr. Elizabeth Jacobs, Epidemiologist
Elizabeth Jacobs, PhD, is a chronic disease epidemiologist and Professor Emerita who retired from the University of Arizona in 2024. She was funded by the National Institutes of Health for more than 20 years and published more than 120 peer-reviewed papers arising from this research.
